ALCS: History not on Sabathia's side

Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia starts Game 4 of the American League Championship on three days' rest.

According to ace Gregory Dohmann in the ESPN Stats & Information department, historically that has been a less-than-sure bet in the postseason.

Since 1995, 85 pitchers have started in the postseason on three days' rest after another start.

In those 85 starts, those pitchers are 20-34 with a 4.65 ERA and 1.42 WHIP.

In their starts before the three days' rest start, those pitchers were 29-19 with a combined ERA of 4.14 and a WHIP of 1.31.
