ALCS: Scioscia not in favor of playoff schedule

Angels manager Mike Scioscia, who complained Saturday about taking 20 days to play eight postseason games, said he would like to see the postseason schedule trimmed.

"I think you lose a lot of integrity of what the season means,'' he said of the extra off days. "Part of it is not in your control. Some of it could be trimmed. It's something that eventually will have to be addressed. We saw what happened last year in Philadelphia. You can't control the weather, but the earlier you start, the better your chance of having better weather. I think it does have an impact, maybe not on who wins or loses but on the quality of play, and that's important to the integrity of the game. It's something that has gotten away on us a little bit.''
