The NBA's potential future

Dickie V thinks John Wall proved himself worthy of the No. 1 pick in his one year at Kentucky. Jim Brown/US Presswire

This is a draft based on potential, potential, potential. A number of talented players are out there, but not too many immediate-impact stars.

It will be interesting to see how many deals are made. I'm sure a number of clubs without a first-round pick would like to deal their way in.

I love the upside of Georgetown's Greg Monroe. Two athletes with star potential are Oklahoma State's James Anderson and Xavier's Jordan Crawford.

New Jersey Nets coach Avery Johnson would be perfect for Kentucky's DeMarcus Cousins, who could have an immediate impact as a scorer and rebounder. Johnson would also be tasked with managing Cousins' personality.

Figuring out this draft is difficult. A player chosen at No. 15 may end up being close to the one tabbed at No. 40. Only time will tell.
