Wisconsin takes down No. 1 Ohio State

Wow, what a performance by Jordan Taylor of the Wisconsin Badgers in a big-time victory over No. 1 Ohio State.

I wonder if they have stopped partying yet in Madison, baby! The 71-67 score will stay in the memories of the Grateful Red fans for a while!

Thad Matta's team looked like they had this game all wrapped up. They built up a 15-point lead and looked brilliant at Kohl Center. Then it was the Taylor show.

The junior guard doesn't get enough national publicity despite the fact he is one of the premier point guards in the nation. He hit trifecta after trifecta in bringing the Badgers back and eventually to the winner's circle.

This young man is such an important player for the Badgers. He can pass the ball, play great defense and he doesn't make mistakes. He is super in the assist-to-turnover ratio and he took charge when Bo Ryan needed him.

You have to credit the Wisconsin defense. It did a great job in the second half against a very talented Buckeyes team. Ohio State was the last of the unbeaten, which means that the 1976 Indiana team still remains the only Division I squad to go through a season undefeated.

My friends, this was not really an upset even with Ohio State going to Madison ranked as the No. 1 team in America. Realize that the Badgers are now 150-11 at Kohl Center under Bo Ryan. Ohio State has not won in Madison in over a decade, making the last victory there in 2000.

Even in defeat, this Buckeye team was impressive. They have all of the pieces necessary to make a serious run in the NCAA tournament. Jared Sullinger is not only the diaper dandy of the season, but he deserves some consideration for national Player of the Year. He finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.

For the Badgers, It was excitement galore and the three-pointer was key. Wisconsin made 12-of-24 while Ohio State connected on only three-of-nine.

The Buckeyes will try to bounce back on Tuesday night against a Michigan State team in desperate need of a marquee Big Ten win. In the meantime, Ryan and the Badgers have a lot to celebrate!
