The Huskies won as a No. 7 seed over the Cyclones.

UNEXPECTED HEROES OF THE DAY: Dustin Hogue, Iowa State; Terrence Samuel, Connecticut; Jordan Morgan, Michigan and Dakari Johnson, Kentucky.

Hogue kept Iowa State close, scoring 34 points against Connecticut. Samuel scored 10 points off the bench for the Huskies. Morgan was a factor on defense, drawing a charge on Tennessee's Jarnell Stokes late, and also scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Johnson had 15 points for the 'Cats in the win over Louisville.
