Roundball chatter

Each week I'll write about the sport I love, college basketball:

• The stream of players announcing their intention to enter the NBA draft continues. Andrew Wiggins of Kansas became a one-and-done player. Johnny O'Bryant III of LSU, Jordan Clarkson and Jabari Brown of Missouri, James Michael McAdoo of North Carolina, and UNLV's Roscoe Smith, one of the nation's top rebounders, also put their names on the list of players turning pro.

• The coaching changes keep on coming, too. Steve Wojciechowski got his first opportunity to be a head coach when Marquette hired him. Wojo is ready for this challenge and has a bright future ahead. South Florida hired Orlando Antigua from John Calipari's staff at Kentucky. Former Oregon coach Ernie Kent is heading to Washington State. Montana State named former Oregon assistant Brian Fish head coach. Kelvin Sampson accepted the Houston job. Danny Manning left Tulsa for Wake Forest. Jim Christian went from Ohio to Boston College. Saul Phillips left North Dakota State for Ohio.

• Georgia coach Mark Fox got a well-deserved two-year contract extension. New Mexico gave Craig Neal a two-year extension, too.

• You also hear news about players seeking transfers at this time of the year. Matt Carlino is leaving BYU for his final season of eligibility. Boston University lost three players -- Maurice Watson Jr., James Kennedy and Malik Thomas. St. John's lost center Chris Obekpa, who is going elsewhere.

• The Jimmy V Classic has a pair of exciting matchups on Dec. 9. Indiana will meet Louisville while Villanova will tangle with Maryland.
