DOVER, Del. -- Bakari Copeland scored 17 points and Maryland-Eastern Shore overcame a 13-point halftime deficit to defeat Delaware State 65-64 on Saturday.
The Hawks (11-18, 8-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) trailed the Hornets 41-28 at halftime and 48-36 with 12:23 to play. Maryland-Eastern Shore chipped away however, outscoring Delaware State 24-12 over the next 9:24, and finally tying it on a Ryan Andino 3 with 2:59 left.
Logan McIntosh added 11 points for Maryland-Eastern Shore, which shot only 37.5 percent but hit 13 3-pointers, accounting for 61.9 percent of its total field goals.
Mallory led Delaware State (9-21, 6-9) with 17 points. Devin Morgan added 14 and six assists.
