Vancouver spent spent $553.1 million hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics. What else could the city have purchased for the same amount? Page 2 did the math:

• 13 Cowboys Stadium HD JumboTron television sets.

• 79 million beers at a Dallas Cowboys game.

• The complete 2010 rosters of the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres.

• The complete 2009 rosters of the NFC East … plus the Minnesota Vikings.

• Expansion fees for 15 MLS teams.

• An MLS roster of David Beckham, Ronaldhino, Thierry Henry, Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney, John Terry, Steven Gerrard, Michael Ballack, Ronaldo (but why?), Fabio Cannavaro, Francesco Totti, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Andriy Shevchenko, Rio Ferdinand, Didier Drogba, Raul Gonzalez Blanco and Alessandro del Piero … and still have $191 million to spare.

• 1.08 million premium New York Yankees game tickets.

• Van Gogh's "Irises" and "Portrait of Dr. Gachet," Picasso's "Garcon a la Pipe" "Femme aux Bras Croises" and "Dora Maar with Cat," Renior's "Bal Au Moulin de la Galette," Cezanne's "Rideau, Cruchon et Compotier" with $34 million left for museum security.

• Two F-22 Raptor fighter jets, along with 55 million gallons of jet fuel.

• Six percent of Greece's reported $8.6 billion Athens Olympics debt.
