Evan Lysacek vying for ESPYs for best Olympian

Fri, Jul 9

Evan Lysacek, the 2010 Olympic figuring skating champion, is vying for "Best Male U.S. Olympic Athlete" in 2010 ESPYs voting. He became the first American since Brian Boitano (in 1988) to win a gold medal in Olympic men's figure skating.

But Lysacek considers himself a winner already.

"I'm really, really happy right now," said the 25-year-old Illinois native who lives in Los Angeles. "From Olympics to 'Dancing With the Stars' to 'Stars on Ice', I've had a great year. And being afforded this opportunity at the ESPYs is special. I'm just having a great time."

Fans will determine the winners in all categories (except the Arthur Ashe Courage Award and other special awards) by voting online and, for the first time, on Facebook through Saturday.
