Sam Bradford prepares for game by reading Bible

When the St. Louis Rams play the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Seattle's defense will be ready to attack Rams quarterback Sam Bradford. They'll try to rattle him, hit him, fluster him and get in his face.

But Bradford has a secret weapon.

Before Bradford leaves his hotel, he will read the story of David and Goliath from the Bible. He has read this story before every game.

David and Goliath is a story about an impossible situation. A story about never losing heart when you think you might have something to fear. It's the story of a young David, emerging as a leader.

Bradford wants his teammates to see a leader in himself.

"I want them to see a competitor," he said by phone. "Someone who is going to go out on the field and give everything they have for four quarters and do everything they can to help this football team win."
