Boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard was the first athlete eliminated from ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" this season.
"I will cherish this moment. Great friends, great people, great show," said Leonard Tuesday after being the third contestant sent home on the reality dance show. "I love the spirit of the show, what the show means, represents and stands for."
The 54-year-old Leonard, along with partner Anna Trebunskaya, never looked comfortable on the dance floor this season, finishing near the bottom each week. They join TV host Wendy Williams and disc jockey Mike Catherwood on the sidelines.
It'll probably be several weeks before the other athletes -- Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward and pro wrestler Chris Jericho -- are eliminated. They've actually improved each week.
Next week, it's "American Week" for the dancers.
