Hines Ward has high score on 'Dancing with Stars'

Maybe Hines Ward doesn't even need "Steeler Nation" to help him win ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."

The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver seems to be doing just fine in front of the three judges, as he led Monday's competition with 27 points out of 30. He, along with partner Kym Johnson, went "An Officer and a Gentleman" for America Night as they danced the rumba.

"I've been leaning heavily on Kym. I let her be my drill sergeant," Ward said. "If anything, she's pushing me even more than I thought. She thinks I can do better and she makes me work harder."

The other athlete remaining out of the eight contestants -- pro wrestler Chris Jericho -- also did well Monday, finishing tied in second with Disney star Chelsea Kane and hip hop star Romeo with 26 points.

On Tuesday, it's elimination time as the public gets to decide who is sent home.

It's likely going to be fashion model Petra Nemcova, who has been near the bottom every week, as she scored a 22, along with reality star Kendra Wilkinson and the once-leading "Karate Kid" Ralph Macchio.

But Ward isn't totally sold on it being such an easy victory this season for him.

"It's going to come down to votes this season, and the competition has been so close," Ward said. "The celebrities have big followings. Kirstie Alley. Kendra. All have their own fanbases. I'm still going to have to lean heavily on Steeler Nation!"
