'Fire in Babylon' cricket documentary opens

Fri, Jul 22

"Fire in Babylon," a documentary of the West Indian cricket teams that dominated the sport in the 1970s and '80s, opens Friday in Brooklyn.

The film tells the story of a group of racially conscious teammates who thrived despite race riots in England and civil unrest in the Carribean, and who rose up in the privileged sport.

The film, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, is playing at reRun Gastropub Theater in Brooklyn, and also on video on demand, as well as iTunes and Amazon Instant Video.

A guide on how to find the film is available at TribecaFilm.com.
