Conference USA and the Mountain West announced they will be joining forces to create a superleague which could begin play as soon as 2013.

Until the new outfit settles on an official name, Page 2 will use the interim moniker Conference TBA.

The conglomeration is expected to consist of 18-24 teams -- spanning six time zones for football. Obviously, travel will be a challenge for member institutions. But it might be even more daunting than expected.

Thanks to Google Maps, Page 2 reveals some of the travel impacts in Conference TBA:

• East Carolina to Hawaii
Distance: 5,751 miles  Miscellaneous: Suggested route crosses ACC territory and has tolls
Student-athletes time away from class: 16 days, 6 hours
Be prepared: Turn No. 52, "Kayak across the Pacific Ocean -- 2,756 miles"

• Southern Miss to Hawaii
Distance: 5,438 miles  Miscellaneous: Suggested route crosses SEC territory and has tolls
Student-athletes time away from class: 16 days, 1 hour
Be prepared: Turn No. 40, "Kayak across the Pacific Ocean -- 2,756 miles"

• Marshall to Hawaii
Distance: 5,383 miles  Miscellaneous: Suggested route crosses Big 12 and Pac-12 territory
Student-athletes time away from class: 15 days, 23 hours
Be prepared: Turn No. 48, "Kayak across the Pacific Ocean -- 2,756 miles"

Not to be overlooked is the fact Hawaii is missing out on tremendous competitive opportunities by only joining Conference TBA in football. The Warriors would dominate the league in kiteboarding, windsurfing, paddleboarding, jet skiing and outrigger canoe racing.
