Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon of ESPN's "Pardon the Interruption" are guest starring on Saturday's episode of "Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil" on Disney XD.
"Watch it. If you think we're great, then we're open for business in the cartoon game," said Kornheiser, who has co-hosted "PTI" on ESPN since 2001. "Michael and I enjoyed it, but seriously, we don't need a new career at our ages. We're not George Clooney and Matt Damon. You wouldn't think either of us had the voices to do this."
"Kick Buttowski" is an animated series about a boy who aspires to become the world's greatest daredevil. Kornheiser and Wilbon play police officers in Saturday's episode.
Sandro Corsaro, creator and executive producer of the show, loved having the two broadcasters perform.
"As a huge fan of 'PTI,' Tony and Mike were a perfect fit for the roles of Officers Irwin and Mack," Corsaro said. "Like all great partners, they have awesome comedic chemistry and timing. When you see their episodes, you can see and certainly hear that we wrote these parts with them in mind. If you like 'PTI,' you will dig these characters as they love debating and laying down the law just like their real-life counterparts."
For Kornheiser, it's more bragging rights around the household.
"To my son, what is the single greatest thing in my career? That was being a character in 'South Park,'" said Kornheiser, who is married and has two children. "Now he can watch this. On second thought, get us more work. We're already in the ABC building here, so get us more business!"
