Model Tori Praver is no stranger to the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, having appeared 2007 to 2009, but this year, she's doing something different for the magazine, which is out this week.
Praver, a 25-year-old San Diego native, worked with Lexus, the automotive sponsor for the issue, to literally build a racetrack around the curves of her body. And the work was displayed in four pages in the issue.
"I had no idea what to expect when until I saw the video about it," Praver said. "It was pretty amazing. It was something that's never been done. I'm happy to be a part of the issue."
The Lexus campaign ties into the launch of the new 2013 GS, which hits showrooms this month. The SI swimsuit issue reaches more than 70 million people annually.
"The highest speed I've probably driven was about 80 to 90 mph, until I got into this car and did it on that track," Praver said. "We definitely went over 100. It was an adrenaline rush. Pretty insane. When I pressed the gas, I surprised myself."
