Leonard vs. Hearns

Leonard, the 1976 Olympic medalist and America's darling, faced Hearns, the pride of Detroit, to unify the welterweight title in a hugely anticipated bout that had great ebb and flow. Hearns swelled Leonard's left eye by Round 5 and was cruising, but Leonard rallied to punish him in the middle rounds before Hearns came back. Between Rounds 12 and 13, Angelo Dundee, Leonard's famed trainer, famously told Leonard, "You're blowing it, son!" Leonard took it to heart, raised his game and hurt Hearns in the 13th before knocking him out in the 14th. Hearns was ahead on all three scorecards.
