The WWE has announced a multiyear partnership with The V Foundation for Cancer Research through a charity established to support research into pediatric brain and spinal cord cancer.
Connor's Cure was created in 2014 by WWE executives Stephanie McMahon and wrestler Triple H as a fund in partnership with the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. It honors an 8-year-old WWE fan, Connor Michalek, who battled a rare tumor.
Since its inception, Connor's Cure has raised nearly $1 million and helped more than 100 families.
The announcement of the partnership was made Monday at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, with officials from the hospital, the WWE and the V Foundation in attendance.
ESPN has supported the efforts of The V Foundation for more than 30 years.
