ESPN and Seven West Media have confirmed plans to bring the X Games Sydney to Australia on Oct. 19-21, 2018.

The cream of Skateboard, BMX and Moto X competitions will visit the country for the first time in the 20-year history of the X Games while internationally, ESPN will keep fans up to speed with TV coverage.

Australia is a fitting destination for next year's festivities, given Australian athletes hold an impressive 138 medals -- 45 of them gold -- from the X Games' summer and winter events.

"I'm excited about X Games coming to Australia in 2018," said Clinton Moore, Australian Moto X rider and five-time X Games medalist.

"I feel like in every X Games I've competed in in the past, it has been on their turf but to have it here in Australia, I feel like is my X Games to defend, and there's nothing like having the support of your own country."
