What would MLB look like if players only played for their home state?

MLB teams are always looking for new sources of talent, and the best ones manage to find players both in their own backyards and halfway across the world. There simply aren't enough elite-level ballplayers in a team's backyard to make a decent squad.

For an all-time MLB team, however, one can definitely make a pretty good lineup just out of players born in a particular state. Joseph Milord of EliteDaily.com put together a list of the best nine players from each state, according to where each player was born (with the exception of Jackie Robinson, who was born in Georgia but moved to California when he was an infant). Here are some of our favorites:

Alabama

California

Florida

Georgia

Illinois

Maryland

New York

Ohio

Pennsylvania

Texas
