CU expects surprises from CSU defense
BOULDER, Colo. -- Colorado State's defensive line may have a few surprises in store for Colorado.
Although the Rams returned six starters on defense, they have a new defensive coordinator in Steve Stanard who arrived in Fort Collins from New Mexico State.
The Buffaloes aren't quite sure what is in store when the two teams meet Saturday in Denver.
"I'm expecting them to come out with something different because they do have a new defensive coordinator," CU wide receiver Derek McCoy said. "We're just going to have to play it as it goes."
Buffs coach Gary Barnett noted that Stanard ran a system at New Mexico State that was similar to the schemes used by CSU last year.
"Just his spin, whatever that's going to be, will make it different," Barnett said. "Everybody's got a little signature on defense and we don't know what his is yet."
