MIAMI -- The Miami Dolphins placed linebacker and top draft pick Eddie Moore on the injured reserve list Friday and released six players.

Moore, who had season-ending surgery on Aug. 11 to stabilize a left foot injury, is not eligible to return this season. The 6-foot, 237-pounder out of Tennessee was the Dolphins' second-round pick in April's draft.

He was expected play outside linebacker.

Also Thursday, the Dolphins waived defensive tackle Maurice Anderson, defensive end Corey Callens, fullback Sedrick Irvin, defensive tackle Damonte McKenzie, quarterback Lon Sheriff and punter Kevin Stemke.
