Defensive end may not play in Colorado game

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma starting defensive end Dan Cody may not play Saturday against Colorado.

Cody suffered an ankle sprain last week against Missouri and remains a "little questionable," OU coach Bob Stoops said after practice Thursday.

The 6-foot-5, 270-pound junior has five sacks and is part of a three-man rotation at the two end positions.

If Cody isn't able to play, Larry Birdine would start.

Birdine, a freshman with three sacks, has played extensively as a reserve for Cody and Jonathan Jackson.

Sophomore Calvin Thibodeaux, who's had limited duty, could see increased playing time as a back-up in the end rotation.

Officials expect starting middle linebacker Wayne Chambers, who hurt his ankle against Missouri, to play on Saturday.
