DAVIE, Fla. -- The Miami Dolphins could be without two Pro Bowl players -- linebacker Zach Thomas and cornerback Patrick Surtain -- when they play at Tennessee on Sunday.

Both are listed as questionable and coach Dave Wannstedt said Friday there is no change in their condition. Thomas has a groin injury and Surtain an injured ankle.

Thomas leads the team with 104 tackles and Surtain is second in the NFL with six interceptions.

Tommy Hendricks would replace Thomas if the injury keeps him from playing. Hendricks has started one game this season, making four tackles against Jacksonville.

Terrell Buckley and Jamar Fletcher are the Dolphins' backup cornerbacks.

Miami says it plans to sign receiver Kendall Newson from the team's practice squad after placing offensive lineman Mark Dixon on injured reserve this week.

Wannstedt said Newson will be active Sunday and could be used as a kick returner. Newson led the World League in punt and kickoff return average this summer.
