Brazilian Scheidt keeps lead in Star regatta

NASSAU, Bahamas -- Two-time Olympic gold medalist Robert Scheidt of Brazil had a first and two seconds Thursday to retain his overall lead after the second day of the inaugural Star Sailors League finals.

Scheidt and crew Prada Bruno have 11 points after seven races to lead Diego Negri and Sergio Lambertenghi of Italy, who have 25.

Mark Mendelblatt and Brian Fatih of the United States are third with 26 points.

A purse of $200,000 will be divided among the 18 world-class skippers.
