Semaphore Man wins King Cotton Stakes at Oaklawn

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. -- Semaphore Man broke sharp and never lost his lead, outpacing Junior College to win the $50,000 King Cotton Stakes at Oaklawn Park on Saturday.

Semaphore Man finished the 6-furlong race in 1:09.7. Junior College finished 2} lengths behind, followed by Probation Ready.

Officer Rocket, who finished second in Oaklawn's Southwest and Rebel last year, was sixth.

Semaphore Man, with Timothy Doocy aboard, paid $6.20, $3.40 and $3. A $2 exacta paid $12.40.

Junior College paid $3.20 and $3, and Probation Ready paid $4.80.

Semaphore Man is trained by Kelly Von Hemel.
