Diamondbacks confirm signing of LHP Perez
PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks have confirmed signing left-handed reliever Oliver Perez to a two-year contract.
The $4.25 million deal had been reported late last week and Perez was in uniform at the team's spring training facility in Scottsdale on Sunday. But the signing wasn't announced by the club until Monday.
The 32-year-old pitcher was 3-3 with two saves and a 3.74 ERA in a career-high 61 appearances with the Seattle Mariners last season.
Perez has pitched parts of 11 major league seasons with San Diego, Pittsburgh, the New York Mets and, for the last two seasons, Seattle.
He is 62-75 with a 4.53 ERA in his career, which includes 195 starts.
