NEW YORK -- Buddy Carlyle is staying with the New York Mets.

The 37-year-old right-hander agreed Monday to a minor league contract and was invited to big league spring training.

He was 1-1 with a 1.45 ERA in 27 games with the Mets during three stints last year, his first major league actions following two seasons at Triple-A.

Carlyle has a 12-13 record with a 5.13 ERA in 27 starts and 112 relief appearances in eight big league seasons with San Diego, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees and Mets.
