DENVER -- The Colorado Rockies designated catcher Danny Ardoin for assignment following Friday night's game.

Ardoin was .193 with no home run and two RBIs in 35 games. The Rockies have 10 days to trade, release or outright Ardoin to the minor leagues.

"Right now all I can do is wait," Ardoin said. "I can wait to see who shows interest in me and go from there."

Colorado filled the roster spot by recalling catcher Chris Iannetta from Triple-A Colorado Springs. During stops in Double A Tulsa and Colorado Springs he combined to hit .336 with 14 home runs and drive in 48 runs in 98 games.

The 23-year-old Iannetta will be looking to make his major league debut. He was a fourth-round pick in the June 2004 draft.
