PHOENIX -- A Phoenix Suns fan who got into a fight with the wife of Mavericks coach Avery Johnson in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals is no longer pursuing charges.

Rebecca Kettle filed a criminal assault complaint against Cassandra Johnson, saying she was hit on the shoulder during a verbal confrontation May 30. She and her boyfriend, Jose Martinez, said in a statement Friday that they were dropping the case.

"We really appreciate the attitude and kindness the Suns organization displayed in putting this unfortunate situation behind all of us," the couple said in a statement. "We additionally would like to thank all of the Suns fans that came to our support."

The Suns said Kettle and Martinez will be their guests at any playoff games next season.

According to all involved, Johnson was upset that Kettle and Martinez kept standing and cheering, blocking the view of her children. One witness said Johnson used an obscenity when telling the pair to sit down.

When the three got into an argument, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban intervened and tried to calm everyone down.

Kettle and Martinez were ejected because she made an obscene gesture. Police questioned Johnson, who denied hitting anyone, and no formal charges were filed.
