MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Vikings safety Willie Offord pleaded guilty to drunken driving Tuesday in Hennepin County District Court.

District Judge Bruce Peterson ordered Offord to pay a $600 fine and perform 32 hours of community service. Offord pleaded guilty to misdemeanor fourth-degree drunken driving.

Offord was stopped by the State Patrol April 18 on Interstate 394 in Golden Valley. His blood-alcohol level was not available at that time. His attorney, David Valenti, said Offord challenged the legality of the stop, but Peterson rejected it.

Offord, the Viking's special teams captain last season, signed a two-year contract extension earlier this year. He is rehabilitating a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee but is expected to be ready for training camp.
