DENVER -- Former Broncos quarterback John Elway said Friday he will open a second restaurant, this one in the Ritz-Carlton hotel scheduled to open in downtown Denver this summer.

He already owns Elway's in the upscale Cherry Creek shopping district. The new venture will be called Elway's Colorado Steakhouse.

Last month, Elway ended a nine-year licensing agreement with the country's largest auto dealer, AutoNation Inc., removing his name from Denver-area dealerships. At the time, Elway said the move could allow him to get back into the auto business under his own name.

Elway sold his five dealerships to AutoNation for $82.5 million in 1997.

In 16 seasons with the Broncos, Elway led the team to two Super Bowl wins. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004.

He is now a part owner of the Colorado Crush arena football team.
