NEW YORK -- Comments on the New England Patriots by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

Chris Berman (ESPN, 6) -- Back to just outscoring opponents.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 6) -- The defense still needs to improve, but the offense is just fine.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 6)

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 7) -- Still can't figure out why they aren't significantly better on defense.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 8) -- Pats continue dominance of Bills, but not before sweating out a shootout win at home. Pass defense continues to be an issue for Bill Belichick's group, though. Needed a game-saving end zone interception from Devin McCourty to win it.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 7) -- Only five quarterbacks have thrown more passes this season than the 358 of Tom Brady -- but none have thrown fewer interceptions (three).

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 8) -- Now the Big Dig refers to the holes the Patriots' need to fix in their secondary.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 10) -- All is well in Foxborough Aqib Talib to the rescue.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 5) -- As long as Tom Brady is healthy it doesn't seem to matter who else is on the field. Aaron Hernandez is out and the team goes 3-1 without him.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 7) -- They held on vs. the Bills but this defense needs to tighten up to win another Lombardi.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 3) -- Although a 37-31 victory over Buffalo was closer than it needed to be because of ongoing defensive issues, the Patriots still rolled to a third straight win for further separation in the AFC East.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 7) -- The offense is humming; will Aqib Talib save the defense?
