PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Flyers signed left wing Ben Eager on Wednesday, two months after acquiring him from the Phoenix Coyotes.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Eager, 20, played two games with the Flyers' American Hockey League affiliate under an amateur tryout after totaling 25 goals, 27 assists and 204 penalty minutes in 61 games with Oshawa of the Ontario junior league.

The 6-3, 215-pound Ottawa native was named best body checker in his conference in a poll of OHL coaches.

"Ben is a big kid, a left winger who is an excellent skater for his size," Flyers assistant general manager Paul Holmgren said. "He is a tough kid, and we think that he is going to improve dramatically."

The 23rd overall pick in the 2002 draft, Eager came over with goaltender Sean Burke and right wing Branko Radivojevic in the February trade that sent center Mike Comrie to the Coyotes.
