Cottbus sign China's Shao from 1860 Munich
BERLIN, July 13 - China midfielder Shao Jiayi has signed a three-year contract with Bundesliga side Energie Cottbus after weeks of negotiations with Beijing Guo'an, which had loaned him to TSV 1860 Munich in 2003.
"The never-ending story is now finally over," Energie Cottbus wrote on their website on Thursday. TSV 1860 are in the second division. Cottbus were promoted to the first division for a second time in May.
The deal for Shao, 26, was first reported in a Chinese newspaper in June but it had been held up in part due to a requirement that his five-page contract be translated into Chinese.
"We're delighted that we've now finally completed the transfer," said Cottbus sporting director Steffen Heidrich.
