SportsCenter anchor

Trey Wingo serves as the primary anchor on the 6:00 p.m. ET edition of SportsCenter. He joined ESPN in November 1997 as an ESPNEWS anchor and has been featured regularly on the 1:00 and 2:00 a.m. overnight editions of SportsCenter as well as ESPN's Baseball Tonight and ESPN2's NFL 2Night shows.

Wingo has been involved in the NFL Draft, hosting a six-hour chat on during the 2000 Draft. He is also a regular contributor on ESPN Radio with weekly commentaries and periodic work on the GameNight and GameDay shows.

Wingo joined ESPN from KSDK-TV in St. Louis, Mo., where he was a sports anchor/reporter for six years, 1991-97. Prior to that, he was a sports anchor/reporter for WFMZ-TV in Allentown, Pa., for a year and the sports director at WMGC-TV in Binghamton, N.Y., 1988-90. He also served for a year in a similar position at Binghamton's WICZ-TV. Wingo began his career in 1987 as a sports producer for NBC's News at Sunrise in New York.

A native of Greenwich, Conn., Wingo graduated from Baylor University in 1985 with a bachelor's degree in communications. He won six Mid-America regional Emmy awards for reporting, including three straight years for outstanding sports reporting.
