Sprinter DeeDee Trotter's 'Turn It Up' Playlist
Olympic 400-meter bronze medalist DeeDee Trotter has been a part of three world and two Olympic gold-medal-winning relay teams. But this year, she won't even be at world championships, taking place now in Beijing. Trotter is out with a minor injury, but expects to be back in time for the Olympics in less than a year.
"I will be in Rio, for sure," she told espnW.
It's that attitude that Trotter tries to tap into when she "turns it up," she said, before competitions, training, and rehab sessions, with music that gets her ready to go.
Trotter likes to listen to some positive rap in the hotel or on the bus. She then turns it off to focus at the track.
These are some of her "turn it up" songs, though one of her favorites you can't buy: It's a cover of Shawty Lo's "Done It All" that her brother, a rapper, changed the lyrics to so that they reflect Trotter's life. Check out the rest of her songs in our W Playlist:
