Happy Birthday, Carly Patterson!

Carly Patterson is one of four American women to take home the gold medal in the Olympics all-around competition, along with Mary Lou Retton (1984), Nastia Liukin (2008) and Gabby Douglas (2012).

Happy birthday, Carly Patterson! The 2004 Olympic all-around gold medalist turns 26 today. The Baton Rouge, La., native became the second American woman to win the Olympic all-around, joining Mary Lou Retton from 1984. Patterson also claimed two silver medals at those 2004 Athens Games, in the team event and on the balance beam. Due to a back injury discovered shortly after returning from Athens, she never appeared in a a major competition again and officially retired from the sport in 2006. Patterson was inducted into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2009. Since leaving gymnastics, she has focused on a music career and is signed with MusicMind Records. She, and her vocal chops, have appeared on the reality series "Celebrity Duets" and the ABC Family drama "Make It or Break It." Patterson lives in Texas with her husband Mark Caldwell.
