Heading back to the Bayou
So it's official: We are headed to Baton Rouge, La., for the first round of the NCAA tournament!
Monday night was the selection show, and we found out that we received a No. 3 seed and will be taking on Cal Poly on Sunday. It was great to sit down with the team, our coaches, administration and fans to share the excitement when our name flashed on ESPN in our tournament bracket.
It's always funny after you find out your seed and who you are going to play. You get asked what you think of the seed and your opponent and, speaking for myself, I never know what to think right away. We're playing a Cal Poly team that until we see the scouting report, we don't know anything about, and that is part of what makes March Madness and the NCAA tournament so much fun.
We are particularly excited because we are actually heading back to the same location we played last year for the first two rounds of the NCAAs. I can't help but love the fact that we are playing in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, the house of one of my all-time favorite players, THE Pistol Pete!
