We're honored to be the No. 1 overall seed

There's nothing like seeing the NCAA logo painted on the field to get a team excited to play.

We did it! We finished the Big 12 season exactly how we wanted, clinching the Bedlam series and the conference championship on Saturday, and finishing the sweep via a Keilani Ricketts no-hitter and a couple of Lauren Chamberlain home runs on Sunday.

We really wanted to come out Sunday and gain momentum for our transition into postseason play. I am so proud of my team because knowing that the final game of the series didn’t “technically” matter it would have been easy to let down, but instead we were able to use it to our advantage.

Sunday night we all watched the selection show together at Coach Gasso’s house and found out where our postseason journey would begin. We were honored to be the No. 1 overall seed, as it has been a goal of ours this season. Getting the chance to potentially stay in our home state of Oklahoma throughout the tournament is so special to us. Our fans have been awesome the whole season, and we are excited to give them more opportunities to watch us play.

Coming to join us in the Norman regional are Marist, Fordham and Arkansas. I love seeing our field all ready for the postseason. The blue NCAA logos spray-painted in the grass and the tournament championship signs hung up all around get you pumped for what is ahead.

We had NCAA timed practices and news conferences Thursday, and the action will begin Friday. We have been preparing for the competition all week and will open up again Marist at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Some great softball will be taking place across the country this weekend, so make sure you stay tuned and up-to-date on all the action as it unfolds. Boomer Sooner!
