Hook, line and sinker
Go fish! You won’t be alone. Today we celebrate National Go Fishing Day. According to a 2011 study by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, 33.1 million Americans fished in 2011 and spent $41.8 billion hoping to land that legendary whopper. Of the 33.1 million total anglers, 8.9 million, or 27 percent, were women. According to the study, 7 percent of all American women 16 and older fished in 2011. Freshwater fishing was the most popular type, with Americans making 369 million freshwater trips in 2011. And in case you’re wondering, the most sought-after fish was the black bass.
