Moveable feast for the eyes

PARIS -- I'm doing a lot of walking every day, which is great. Love getting a good workout, and also getting to see, hear and smell Paris. My walks, usually to the Metro and Roland Garros, make for amazing people-watching and window-shopping.

The City of Light -- and sparkles -- has a lot of magic for window shoppers.

I go past the Dolce & Gabbana store twice a day, first around 9:30 a.m. and again at 10:30 p.m., and my eyes are drawn to a three-piece, beyond-Barbie-pink, sparkle-monster outfit in the main window. The store is always closed at those hours, so I've never gone in to see how much the skirt, jacket and dress cost. I imagine they will be quite expensive because of the designer name and the store's prime location. At night, the store focuses little spotlights on the window, making the pink sequins glow and throw off a slight, neon-like, rosy halo to the sidewalk.

The ensemble makes me quite happy, even though I am afraid it's probably never going to make the cut in my closet. I think it's one of those outfits that looks better on the hanger.
