Michelle Wie got on board with McDonald's Monopoly contest when she filmed an ad in 2011.

On this day in 1935, Parker Brothers Company began selling the iconic “Monopoly” board game. It was an immediate sensation and remains a household staple in America today. Since its initial conception, the game has spun off virtually hundreds of variations, including those for NBA, NFL, MLB and specific teams like the Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox. McDonald’s has famously run a sweepstakes promotion using the game since 1987. The fast-food chain has even used athletes like Michelle Wie and LeBron James in commercials for the campaign.
