Carli Lloyd Dominates World Cup And Talk Show Circuit After Win
Carli Lloyd continued her world domination on Monday morning with appearances on both "Good Morning America" and "Today." Still wearing her championship shirt and having yet to make it to bed, the Golden Ball winner chatted with George Stephanopoulos and Matt Lauer about leading the U.S. to the Women's World Cup victory.
Explaining that the team didn't come to Canada to "take second place," Lloyd discussed the team's mentality and momentum in the championship match and went on to talk about about giving the captain's armband to Abby Wambach.
Lloyd, who scored three goals in the 5-2 win, then switched networks and talked about taking time to savor the moment.
She also talked about her miraculous goal from midfield. Saying she "couldn't believe it went in," she revealed she hasn't actually seen a video clip of it yet. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GET ON THAT?
And, in case you're concerned about her sleep deprivation or all-around general health, please know she's not skipping any meals. She ate pizza for breakfast while waiting to go on the air.
You're truly an American hero, Carli.
