McCallie mother and daughter are both headed to the NCAA tournament

Joanne P. McCallie is a proud mom. Not just because her Duke Blue Devils are projected to be a No. 3 seed in the NCAA tournament -- but because her daughter will be joining her in the Big Dance.

Maddie McCallie and her Elon teammates celebrated winning the Colonial Athletic Association tournament title for the first time in program history, which secured them a berth in their first NCAA tournament. Joanne, who will head to her 20th NCAA tournament as a head coach, was there to take in the moment with her daughter, a senior guard.

Could the McCallies clash in the Big Dance? Charlie Creme's current Bracketology projects Duke (27-5) to be a No. 3 seed in the Bridgeport Regional and Elon to be an 11-seed in Stockton.

The Blue Devils beat Elon 68-61 on Dec. 8 in Durham, North Carolina. Maddie McCallie, in her second season at Elon after transferring from Miami (Ohio), is averaging 2.2 points in 13.5 minutes per game for the Phoenix (27-6).

The NCAA tournament bracket will be revealed during Monday's Selection Special on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET.
