McCall Zerboni finally got USWNT call-up, and she (and her teammates) couldn't be happier

If you need some motivation today -- it is Monday, after all -- please look no further than McCall Zerboni. After years of playing professional soccer but being overlooked by the national team, the 30-year old midfielder was finally called up by the U.S. women's national team over the weekend.

The North Carolina Courage star made her debut on Sunday during the team's win over South Korea. Appearing in the game as a substitute in the second half, Zerboni officially earned her first cap -- and was obviously thrilled about it. She posted a note about the momentous occasion on her Twitter feed on Monday.

Yup, sometimes perseverance really does pay off. We can all probably learn a little something from this, no matter what our chosen profession is.

And, understandably, her teammates were pretty happy for her as well.
