Sure, Lauren Davis didn't play at the Fed Cup, but she still totally crushed it
While Serena and Venus Williams understandably stole the show at the U.S.'s Fed Cup victory this weekend, teammate Lauren Davis had a pretty memorable few days of her own.
Originally scheduled to play doubles with Serena, Davis -- who thrilled tennis fans during her marathon match against Simona Halep in the third round of the Australian Open -- was ultimately sidelined so the sisters could play together. Despite the snub and lack of on-court action, Davis still provided some of the most entertaining moments of the event.
She started things off by choking on a wasabi pea, presumably while watching teammate CoCo Vandeweghe, and was captured on camera simultaneously trying to clap and, you know, struggle to breathe.
And she had a hilarious prematch warmup from her hotel balcony on Sunday morning. I'm assuming this was when she thought she was going to play, but it's still worth watching. Maybe it helped motivate -- or at least entertain -- Serena and Venus before they took the court.
And she even carried the American flag as the team walked onto the court after clinching the victory:
