Bethanie Mattek-Sands' awesome comeback surprise from Aaron Rodgers
Bethanie Mattek-Sands made her return to the WTA Tour in March after a lengthy absence to recover from a horrific knee injury she sustained at Wimbledon. Following surgery and months of rehab, the five-time doubles Grand Slam champion and Olympic gold medalist is currently preparing for her first major of the season in Paris.
While she probably doesn't need much more motivation, she received some from a pretty famous fan -- one who would make any self-respecting Cheesehead jealous. Aaron Rodgers -- perhaps you've heard of him? -- sent her a signed Green Bay Packers helmet with a message wishing her luck with her comeback. As you might imagine, Mattek-Sands, a lifelong Packers fan, was pretty excited about the gift -- and not just because he spelled her name correctly.
Looks like Mattek-Sands will have to return the favor with a signed racket or tennis ball when Rodgers returns from a collarbone injury for the start of the 2018 NFL season.
