The 'Hamilton' song that inspires Oklahoma gymnast Brenna Dowell

Brenna Dowell clinches the victory with a score of a 9.925 on a floor routine to help Oklahoma take down UCLA.

Senior Oklahoma gymnast Brenna Dowell didn't compete on balance beam for the Sooners until this season. But, with teammate and reigning NCAA all-around champion Maggie Nichols limited due to injury, Dowell has helped boost her team with her usual impressive scores -- and now, that includes beam as well. Dowell tied with teammate Anastasia Webb for first place on that event in February's Perfect 10 Challenge quad meet, and took top honors in the all-around as well.

On Sunday, she again earned the highest all-around score for her team as the No. 1-ranked Sooners bested the UCLA Bruins by .2. In short, Dowell has been on fire this season.

While hard work and dedication are no doubt the biggest part of the equation, a great playlist can't hurt. So we asked Dowell to share hers.

"A song that I play over and over again is 'My Shot' by Lin-Manuel Miranda," Dowell told us. "I listened to it before every meet last year and it became my mantra for the season. The song reminds me of hard work and not throwing away your shot. To me that means making the most of every opportunity, every turn, every practice and every competition. It really helped me boost my confidence and own my performances."

Here's what else she's listening to:
