Buzz That Was: Un/usual Suspects

John Wall, Garrett Temple and the rest of the Wizards won't be sitting on the sidelines for this year's playoffs.

In case you were too busy searching for your perfect #TBT photo and missed out on sports, we've got you covered. Here's everything you missed last night.

Monumental moment

The Washington Wizards are going to the playoffs, and the world hasn't ended yet. Insert Taylor Swift shocked award face here. John Wall and the gang clinched the franchise's first postseason berth since 2008 with a 118-92 win over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday. Sure, they play in the lackluster Eastern Conference and half the league is tanking, but those tiny details didn't diminish the players' excitement.

For the players and Wizards fans, punching a playoff ticket was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening. But for the rest of us, watching Marcin Gortat try to sneak into the Celtics' huddle took the cake.

With a 17-point lead at that point, I'm really not sure how much Gortat got from a conversation that presumably was about everyone's vacation plans.

And pinstripes, to boot!

New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter started his season-long farewell tour in Houston against the Astros. On Wednesday, during the second night of a three-game series, the Astros presented the legendary captain with a table full of gifts. And what exactly do you get for the guy who has absolutely everything? The Astros went the traditional Texas route -- a Stetson cowboy hat, boots and a set of golf clubs.

Did I mention the boots were of the pinstriped variety? Yes, this actually happened. There's photographic evidence if you don't believe me.

It's going to be a fun season watching Jeter collect things for his basement.

Following Ronda Rousey

Like seemingly every athlete ever, Ronda Rousey will be appearing as herself in the new "Entourage" movie. A scene featuring the UFC champ was leaked on Wednesday, and it appears the screenwriters think Rousey is as intimidating and terrifying as you think she is. Jump ahead to the 1:07 mark, unless you creepily enjoy watching Kevin Connolly hanging out and not realize he's being filmed.

Moral of the story: Don't follow Rousey if you see her in public. But if you just can't get enough of Rousey, her official movie poster for "Expendables 3" was also released yesterday. SPOILER ALERT: She's playing a tough, fighting person.

Buck up!

Just when you thought the season couldn't be any more embarrassing for the Milwaukee Bucks, LeBron James happened. During Wednesday's game, King James put Ekpe Udoh on a poster with a monstrous dunk right over him.

On the plus side, at least people are talking about the Bucks in April. On the down side, the Heat won 96-77.

Making a splash

Bruce Pearl has been the basketball coach at Auburn for all of three weeks, but it seems he's already fitting in quite nicely. Case in point: The former Tennessee coach took his shirt off (likely waved it around his head like a helicopter) and sat in a dunk tank to help a campus fraternity raise money for charity. Lucky for you, there's a Vine video of the event and you can watch Pearl falling into the water on loop for the rest of the day. You can thank me later.
